Preparation of the Altar and Consecration of the Offering

मन्त्र 1

इयन्ते मधोः समधः पृथिव्याम् सम्भूताः। तास्ते ददामि ता जुषस्व स्वाहा।

iyante madhoḥ samadhaḥ pṛthivyām sambhūtāḥ। tāste dadāmi tā juṣasva svāhā।

अनुवाद: This honeyed essence produced beneath the earth belongs to thee. I give these to thee; accept them with delight, Svāhā.

The priest offers the nourishing gifts of the earth back to the divine, acknowledging that all sustenance originates from the Supreme.

मन्त्र 2

अग्नये त्वा जुष्टं निर्वपामि सूर्यस्य रश्मिभ्यो जुष्टं निर्वपामि।

agnaye tvā juṣṭaṃ nirvapāmi sūryasya raśmibhyo juṣṭaṃ nirvapāmi।

अनुवाद: For Agni I pour thee out as a pleasing offering; for the rays of Sūrya I pour thee out as a pleasing offering.

The act of pouring the grains or oblations is dedicated directly to the sacred fire and the illuminating solar energy.
