Yajurveda Adhyāya 2, Sūkta 8: Offering to Agni and Soma

मन्त्र 1

इयन्ते अग्ने समिधः समिध्यसे तया वर्धस्व च आ च वर्धय अस्मान् ।

iyante agne samidhaḥ samidhyase tayā vardhasva ca ā ca vardhaya asmān ।

अनुवाद: This is your fuel, O Agni, with which you are kindled; by it, grow mighty and cause us to grow.

The sacrificer offers fuel to the sacred fire, acknowledging that fueling the outer fire simultaneously nurtures spiritual growth and inner radiance.

मन्त्र 2

सं ते पयांसि समियन्तु वाजाः सं वृष्ण्यान्यभिभूते विश्वा ।

saṃ te payāṃsi samiyantu vājāḥ saṃ vṛṣṇyānyabhibhūte viśvā ।

अनुवाद: Let milk-offerings come together for you, O victorious one, let the prizes and all heroic powers unite in you.

A prayer invoking the convergence of divine sustenance, strength, and spiritual vigor upon the altar of sacrifice.
