Agni's Protective Installation and Sacrificial Fire

मन्त्र 1

अग्निर्होता कविक्रतुः सत्यश्चित्रश्रवस्तमः । देवो देवेभ्यागमत् ॥

agnirhotā kavikratuḥ satyaścitraśravastamaḥ । devo devebhyāgamat ॥

अनुवाद: Agni, the priest, possessed of the wisdom of a sage, truthful, most renowned for wondrous deeds, the shining one, has come hither along with the gods.

Agni is invoked as the divine priest who knows all sacred acts and possesses ultimate truth. He arrives to preside over the sacrifice, bridging the mortal and divine worlds.

मन्त्र 2

यद्देवेषु कुरुमहे सुकृतं देव मन्यसे । अग्निस्तद्विश्वविद्विद्वान्त्सर्वं तद्दधातु नः ॥

yaddeveṣu kurumahe sukṛtaṃ deva manyase । agnistadviśvavidvidvāntsarvaṃ taddadhātu naḥ ॥

अनुवाद: Whatever righteous deed we perform among the gods, O Divine Agni, you perceive it. May Agni, the knower of all things, being wise, grant us all that completely.

The seeker acknowledges that Agni observes all noble endeavors and rituals, and prays that the divine fire ensures the complete fruition of these sacred actions.
