Agni Sūkta - Rigveda Mandala 2 Sukta 6

मन्त्र 1

त्वमग्ने प्रथमः मनो होता वर्हिषि सीदति । पुरोहितो यज्ञेषु जातवेदाः सुवीरः ॥

tvam agne prathamaḥ mano hotā barhiṣi sīdati | purohito yajñeṣu jātavedāḥ suvīraḥ ||

अनुवाद: Thou, O Agni, art the first Hotṛ priest seated upon the sacred grass; the priest placed in front at sacrifices, the knower of all creatures, rich in heroes.

Agni is recognized as the prime divine priest who sits on the sacrificial seat, guiding our spiritual practices and connecting humanity with the divine forces.

मन्त्र 2

यस्त्वा हविष्मतो घृतेन वर्धयन्ति सुष्टुतिभिः । तान् पाहि जातवेदसे विश्वा आ पर्षि दुष्टितान् ॥

yas tvā haviṣmato ghṛtena vardhayanti suṣṭutibhiḥ | tān pāhi jātavedase viśvā ā parṣi duṣṭitān ||

अनुवाद: Those who nurture thee with offerings and with good praises, protect them, O Jātavedas, and carry them across all difficulties.

By nurturing the inner fire of awareness through pure offerings and devotion, the seeker receives protection and crosses over all perils of existence.
