Marut Sukta - Rigveda Mandala 2 Sukta 34

मन्त्र 1

प्र ये शुम्भाँ अजिहिरात विद्भ्योऽयो न दंशा अजनन्त शुष्मिणः । अर्केषु ये मरुतो भ्राजदृष्टयो हिरण्यसंदृशो वि च चक्रिरे ॥

pra ye śumbhāṁ ajihirāta vidbhyo'yo na daṁśā ajananta śuṣmiṇaḥ | arkeṣu ye maruto bhrājadṛṣṭayo hiraṇyasaṁdṛśo vi ca cakrire ||

अनुवाद: Those who adorn themselves, who have manifested for the wise like iron-forged vigorous bits, those Maruts whose lances flash in songs, radiant like gold, have spread themselves widely.

The Maruts shine with golden splendor and sharp weapons, manifesting their dynamic power to assist seekers of truth and nourish creation.

मन्त्र 2

उत् ते तिष्ठन्त्यरुणासो अर्विणः सुसंकाशाः सूरयो न दृश्ये । राधो न यामन्यतयन्त वेन्यं दधाना ऋष्टिं प्र दिधिद्युरन्रिणः ॥

ut te tiṣṭhantyaruṇāso arvinaḥ susaṁkāśāḥ sūrayo na dṛśye | rādho na yāmanyatayanta venyaṃ dadhānā ṛṣṭiṃ pra didhidhyuranriṇaḥ ||

अनुवाद: Those reddish steeds rise up, clearly visible like wise patrons. In their journey they order precious gifts, wielding their lances and flashing brilliantly.

The Maruts rise like swift horses and generous leaders, distributing spiritual boons while holding their radiant spears.
