अग्निहोत्रं जुहोति योऽग्नये प्रजापतये च सर्वमयः प्रसीदति।
agnihotraṃ juhoti yo'gnaye prajāpataye ca sarvamayaḥ prasīdati.
Verses 1, 2
अग्निहोत्रं जुहोति योऽग्नये प्रजापतये च सर्वमयः प्रसीदति।
agnihotraṃ juhoti yo'gnaye prajāpataye ca sarvamayaḥ prasīdati.
सोमस्य धारा अति पवत ऋतस्य पथिन्न् अधि देवयूर्भवेत्।
somasya dhārā ati pavata ṛtasya pathinn adhi devayūrbhavet.
This act bridges the physical act of sacrifice with the inner flow of divine realization. Agni represents the upward-aspiring flame of aspiration, while Soma represents the descending grace of divine ecstasy. Together, they establish the seeker firmly on the path of Ṛta, or cosmic order.
Verse 1: The sacrificial offering brings forth divine grace and universal unity.
Verse 2: Flowing streams of Soma guide the seeker along the cosmic path of truth.
Sāyaṇa interprets these verses through a strictly ritualistic lens, emphasizing physical oblations, whereas Sri Aurobindo sees Agni as the divine will and Soma as the delight of existence.
