Agni's Consecration for the Sacrifice

मन्त्र 1

इषे त्वा ऊर्जे त्वा वायव स्थ देवो वः सविता प्रार्पयतु श्रेष्ठतमाय कर्मणै

iṣe tvā ūrje tvā vāyava stha devo vaḥ savitā prārpayatu śreṣṭhatamāya karmaṇai

अनुवाद: For sap (nourishment) you; for strength you. You are the winds. May God Savitar impel you to the most excellent work.

The priest touches the sacrificial twigs or vessels, consecrating them for divine nourishment and vital energy, invoking the divine impulse of Savitar.

मन्त्र 2

अग्ने व्रतपते व्रतं चरिष्यामि तच्छकेयं तन्मे राध्यतामिदमहमृतातसत्यमुपैमि

agne vratapate vrataṃ cariṣyāmi tacchakeyaṃ tanme rādhyatāmidamahamṛtātasatyamupaimi

अनुवाद: O Agni, Lord of vows, I shall perform the vow. May I have the strength for it. May that succeed for me. From falsehood I go to truth.

A solemn declaration of dedication by the sacrificer to uphold sacred laws, seeking Agni's grace to complete the spiritual journey from untruth to truth.
