Agni's Fuel and Protection

मन्त्र 1

समिधाऽग्निं दुवस्यत घृतेन वर्धयतामग्निम्। उरुगायमुपस्तृणीध्वम्॥

samidhā'gniṃ duvasyata ghṛtena vardhayatāmagnim। urugāyamupastṛṇīdhvam॥

अनुवाद: Serve Agni with fuel, magnify Agni with clarified butter. Prepare the broad-striding [altar or seat] for him.

The mantra instructs the practitioners to feed the sacred fire with wood and ghee, honoring the divine force that connects humanity with the cosmos.

मन्त्र 2

तस्मिन् द्युम्नमधि धत्त विश्वस्मिन्त्सुनेत्रे। अग्नावुक्थसमिध्यते॥

tasmin dyumnamadhi dhatta viśvasvintsunetre। agnāvukthasamidhyate॥

अनुवाद: Place splendor upon him, the all-good leader. In Agni, praised by hymns, the sacrifice is kindled.

Here, Agni is revered as the supreme leader who holds divine brilliance, brought forth through sacred utterance and offerings.
