Agni - The Divine Flame and Priest of the Sacrifice

मन्त्र 1

अग्निं नो होतारां न्यृञ्जते दिवो यज्ञस्य केतुं प्रथमो ह्यध्वर ऋतावृधं काव्यं प्र शंसत ॥

agniṃ no hotāraṃ nyṛñjate divo yajñasya ketuṃ prathamo hyadhvara ṛtāvṛdhaṃ kāvyaṃ pra śaṃsata ॥

अनुवाद: They adorn Agni, our Hotar (invoker), the banner of heaven, the banner of the sacrifice; for he is the first in the rite, the increaser of ṛta, praise the inspired poem.

The seer calls upon the assembly to praise Agni, who is the primary divine priest and guide of all sacred rituals, bringing light and spiritual awakening.

मन्त्र 2

प्र वो होतारं मनसा विवासेमग्निं यज्ञेषु मनुष्व धायसं। रथेम न संजिगीषन्तमूर्धनि हविष्मन्तो नमसा दिधिष्यामहे ॥

pra vo hotāraṃ manasā vivāsemagniṃ yajñeṣu manuṣva dhāyasaṃ। rathema na saṃjigīṣantamūrdhani haviṣmanto namasā didhiṣyāmahe ॥

अनुवाद: With our mind we invoke your Hotar Agni in the sacrifices, him who is like Manu's sustainer, like a conquering chariot placed at the head; bearing oblations, we worship him with reverence.

Devotees approach Agni with focused minds and offerings, seeing Him as the ultimate victor and leader stationed at the summit of divine aspirations.
