Indra Sukta - Rigveda Mandala 2 Sukta 17

मन्त्र 1

यः जातः एव प्रथमो मनस्वान् देवो देवान् क्रतुना पर्यभूषत् । यस्य शुष्कात् रोदसी अभ्यसेतां नृम्णस्य मह्ना तं जनस इन्द्रः ॥

yaḥ jātaḥ eva prathamo manasvān devo devān kratunā paryabhūṣat । yasya śuṣkāt rodasi abhyasetāṃ nṛmnasya mahnā taṃ janasa indraḥ ॥

अनुवाद: He who, born first, intelligent, as a deity surpassed the gods by his mental power; whose trembling of the two worlds out of fear of his might makes them quake—that Indra, O people, is he.

Indra is recognized as the supreme primordial consciousness and energy who surpasses all other divine forces through his divine intellect and unmatched vigor.

मन्त्र 2

यो विश्वं दृंहत पृथ्वीमचल्राम् यो हतान्येषामतिमंसत स्थिरा । यो हन्यमानो न जिगीष इन्द्रे तिष्ठते तं जनस इन्द्रः ॥

yo viśvaṃ dṛṃhata pṛthvīmacalrām yo hatānyeṣāmatimaṃsata sthirā । yo hanyamāno na jigīṣa indre tiṣṭhate taṃ janasa indraḥ ॥

अनुवाद: He who made the all-comprising earth unshakeable, who subdued the stable forces of opponents, who remains undefeated in battles—that Indra, O people, is he.

Indra provides stability to the universe and ensures that righteousness ultimately triumphs over chaos.
