yuvāmāhutī parigṛhītaṃ pra yacchataṃ mano yuvām । dhenuṃ ca naḥ suvīratām ॥
This act introduces the foundational esoteric dynamic between Agni, the divine flame of aspiration, and Soma, the stream of divine ecstasy and immortality. The seeker offers the distilled essence of their inner experiences—symbolized by the pressed soma juice—and invokes these two cosmic principles to descend and inhabit the purified consciousness. Through this harmonious integration, the practitioner achieves a balance between intense spiritual effort and tranquil inner peace.
Verse 1: O Agni and Soma, accept this pressed offering and approach us closely.
Verse 2: Bestow upon us a steadfast mind, nourishing abundance, and spiritual strength.
Literally, these verses pertain to ritual oblations of physical ghee and soma juice. Symbolically, according to esoteric Vedic commentaries, Agni represents the upward-flaming aspiration of the soul, while Soma represents the descending grace and bliss of the Infinite.
