Pavitravatī Prayers — Purification of the Offering Utensils

मन्त्र 1

दे॒वस्य॑ त्वा सवि॒तुः प्र॑स॒वेऽश्विनो᳚र्बा॒हुभ्यां॑ पू॒ष्णो हस्ता᳚भ्याम् । आ द॑देऽध्व॒रकृ॑तं दे॒वेभ्य॑ः ॥

devásya tvā savitúḥ prasavé'śvínorbāhúbhyāṁ pūṣṇó hástābhyām | ā́ dade'dhvarakṛ́taṁ devébhyaḥ ||

अनुवाद: At the impulse of the divine Savitr, with the arms of the Asvins, and the hands of Pushan, I take thee, the maker of the sacred ritual for the gods.

The ritualist invokes the divine faculties of inspiration, swift healing, and protective nurture to hold and purify the sacred implements without human ego.

मन्त्र 2

अ॒पां रस॒मुद्व॑यसं॒ सूर्ये॑ सन्तं समा॒हित॑म् । अ॒पां रस॑स्य॒ यो रस॒स्तं वो॑ गृह्णाम्युत्त॒मम् ॥

apā́ṁ rásamúdvayasaṁ sū́rye sántaṁ samā́hitam | apā́ṁ rásasya yó rásastáṁ vo gṛhṇāmyuttámam ||

अनुवाद: The essence of the waters, full of vital force, dwelling concentrated in the Sun; that purest essence which is the very nectar of the waters, I draw forth for you as supreme.

Calling upon the solar-infused spiritual essence of waters to cleanse and recharge the mind, heart, and sacred space.
