ध्रुवोऽसि ध्रुवोऽहं भूयासं सख्यै मे सख्याय ते
dhruvo'si dhruvo'haṃ bhūyāsaṃ sakhyai me sakhyāya te
Verses 1, 2
ध्रुवोऽसि ध्रुवोऽहं भूयासं सख्यै मे सख्याय ते
dhruvo'si dhruvo'haṃ bhūyāsaṃ sakhyai me sakhyāya te
इन्द्रेण दत्तेन हविषा रारोह रायस्पोषाय यज्ञेन
indreṇa dattena haviṣā rāroha rāyaspoṣāya yajñena
The aspirant engages in an inner and outer stabilization of consciousness. By declaring firmness to the divine, the seeker invites the ultimate stability of the cosmic order into their own being. This creates a sacred bond, a sakhya or divine friendship, which transcends ordinary transactional worship. Through this alignment, the inner sacrifice facilitates growth and the flourishing of spiritual wealth.
Verse 1: Thou art firm, may I be firm in divine friendship.
Sāyaṇa interprets this strictly within the ritual domain of placing bricks and altar stones, while esoteric interpretations view it as the stabilization of the mind in meditation.
